We recently had the wood floors in our house refinished - and while we knew it would be somewhat of a headache moving all of our possessions into the basement/ garage - I don't think we (I) realized how long it would take for us to actually live in our house again. We officially moved into the basement on a Wednesday and spent our first night back upstairs this past Saturday - 10 days later! At first 'camping' in the basement was fun - but it wasn't too long before we started feeling very claustrophobic.
Besides moving and rearranging furniture, we had such a great weekend. We spent time with our friends The Peters’ and even went to Omaha for a little shopping. Evelyn is so fun to take places she loves to people watch.
The most fun for us is watching Evelyn playing and exploring in our house. We put a baby gate up to block the kitchen and try to keep all of the other doors closed so she can have free reign. She spends most of her time just waiting for us to forget to close the bathroom door or leave a ‘no-no’ in her reach and then she bolts for it as fast as she can. It is so cute. She also really REALLY likes the door stopper that is like a spring – she sits in front of it and goes ‘boiing – boiing – boiing’ over and over and over.
We are looking forward to the holidays and spending time with family – although Evelyn is easiest and happiest at home – I am hoping that all will go smooth with traveling and spending time away from our ‘routine’.
